Frequently asked questions about PMS Balear
What is a PMS?
PMS stands for property management system: the program an accommodation provider uses to manage bookings, front desk, cleaning, payments and invoicing. In PMS Balear it also includes owner statements, the sustainable tourism tax and guest reporting.
Is it suitable for tourist apartments and villas?
Yes. You manage apartments, villas and rooms as units with their own rates and seasons, with online guest pre-check-in and owner statements with a fixed monthly or per-night amount. There is more detail on the holiday rentals page.
Does it comply with SES.HOSPEDAJES?
PMS Balear lets you report guest and booking data to the Ministry of the Interior from the booking record itself. The obligation is yours as the holder of the accommodation, so you should review the Ministry's official information. We explain it in the SES.HOSPEDAJES guide.
Does it calculate the sustainable tourism tax?
Yes, it calculates it on the stay from the configuration you define: accommodation category, high-season or low-season rate, maximum number of nights and minimum exemption age. We do not set amounts, because they change; check the current ones with the ATIB.
Where is the data hosted?
Data is hosted in the European Union. The application is multi-company: each company sees only its own information.
Does it work in Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza?
Yes. It is a PMS designed for the islands: seasonal rates, ecotax by category and support from a Balearic team. There are specific pages for Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza and Formentera.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It is a web application that works on a computer, tablet and phone, and that you can install as an app from the browser. You only need an internet connection.
